My mother lives with me, but I work full time and want to be sure she’s taking her medications and eating while I’m not at home. What are my options?

VNA Health Care has a variety of services that can meet your needs. You may want to consider a personal care attendant to provide care including meal preparation and medication reminders. Another option is to have meals delivered to your home by one of our home meal delivery programs and an emergency response system such as LifeLine.

My father is alone and I’m concerned for his health and safety.

VNA Health Care has a variety of services that can meet your needs. Meals on wheels and LifeLine personal emergency response may be good choices. Perhaps a homemaker may be an alternative. An in-home assessment including a safety evaluation of the home may be a place to start.

My mother is being discharged from the hospital and she is insistent about going home. I am concerned how she will manage.

You can speak to the discharge planner or care coordinator at the hospital. VNA Health Care is available to assist your mother’s transition to home by providing nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, a home care aide or a variety of other services including homemaker, companion, and meals delivered to her home. You can also call VNA Health Care directly.

My mother is caring for my father who is dying and I’m concerned that she is getting overwhelmed.

VNA Health Care’s Hospice program can help. Through the multidisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, home care aides and volunteers VNA Health Care can help with your father’s care and pain management while providing respite for your mother.

I think my father needs home care but he says he can’t afford it. Can someone help us find out how much home care would cost and whether any of it is covered by insurance?

Just call one of our friendly intake nurses. They will be happy to provide you with all the information you need.
