Meals on Wheels Receives Donation from Buckingham Estates
Buckingham Estates Memory Care Community of Glastonbury donated $1,500 to VNA HealthCare’s Meals on Wheels program. “We are very committed to our local community and feel Meals on Wheels is a worthy cause,” explained Danette Brown, Community Relations Director. Ms. Brown has volunteered herself to deliver meals to Glastonbury recipients.
Meals on Wheels delivers 187,000 meals a year, mostly with volunteers, to people who are unable to shop or safely prepare meals in the Hartford and Waterbury regions covered by the agency.
The check was presented to Pilar Schmidt, Vice President Development, VNA HealthCare, by Kevin Horan, Administrator, Buckingham Estates and Ms. Brown.
