Hartford Vote and Vax Flu Clinic
HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT, October 30, 2008 - Did you know that the single best way of preventing the flu is to get a flu shot each and every year? Local home care agency VNA HealthCare along with co-sponsors the City of Hartford Department of Public Health and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation invite anyone over the age of nine years old to receive their flu or pneumonia shots at walk-in clinics on
Tuesday , November 4 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. atSouth End Wellness Center 830 Maple Ave. Hartford.There is a $37 fee for flu shots and $57 for pneumonia shots. The following are the only forms of payment accepted this year:Over 65 years of age: Medicare Part B, Health Net / Smart Choice, Aetna Managed Medicare, Anthem Managed Medicare, ConnectiCare Managed Medicare, cash or check.Under 65: ConnectiCare, Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield, HealthNet, Aetna, Oxford, cash or check. Also, the Centers for Disease Control suggest that some people check with their doctor before vaccination. This includes anyone with allergies to eggs; anyone with a history of Guillain-Barré syndrome and persons who are ill and have a fever. Can’t make this clinic?
