Kosher Meals on Wheels Offer Nutrition and Independence
HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT, June 24, 2009 – Local home care agency VNA HealthCare, a leading provider of Meals on Wheels for more than 30 years, announces the launch of its new kosher Meals on Wheels program in West Harford and Bloomfield.
Kosher Meals on Wheels are ideal for individuals who are unable to shop for food or prepare their own meals due to age, illness or injury. The nutritionally balanced, home-delivered meals are prepared fresh daily by Catering by Schuman under glatt kosher dietary guidelines.
“Whether our clients need meals for a short time, or ongoing service due to disability or illness, our program makes it easy for them to continue to live independent and healthy kosher lives in their own homes,” said Ellen Rothberg, President and CEO of VNA HealthCare. “We’re pleased to offer this vital service to the local Jewish community.”
Recipients may request single or double meals delivered daily to their homes Monday through Friday. Home-delivered meals can begin within 48 hours after your phone call. There are no age or financial restrictions. Limited charitable funding is available.
