Golfers Raise $60,000 for Meals on Wheels

More than 100 Golfers teed off May 18 at Shuttle Meadow Country Club, Kensington at the tenth annual VNA HealthCare Golf Classic. The event raised $60,000 for the Meals on Wheels program. Jason Benedict of the Whittlesey and Hadley company chaired the golf commitee with the help of the following: Paul Dean, Mike Fresher, Avery Gaddis, John Giliberto, David Gollob, John Hussey, Carolyn Joseph, Steve Lowry, Marty Noreika, Chuck Vallurupalli and Peter Walbert.

For more than 40 years, the agency’s Meals on Wheels program has delivered nourishing meals to elderly and disabled residents who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. The meals, along with daily contact from caring volunteers and staff allow people to remain in their own homes … where they want to be.
