Golfers Play for Meals on Wheels
More than 100 golfers teed off May 24 at Shuttle Meadow Country Club, Kensington at the eleventh annual VNA HealthCare Golf Classic. The event raised $61,000 for the Meals on Wheels program.
For more than 40 years, the agency’s Meals on Wheels program has delivered nourishing meals to elderly and disabled residents who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. The meals, along with daily contact from caring volunteers and staff allow people to remain in their own homes … where they want to be.
Chairman of the event Jason Benedict of Avon thanked the sponsors of the event:
At the Titanium level: Byram Healthcare, C.M. Smith Agency and Mutual of America.
Platinum sponsors were Allscripts, ConnectiCare, Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority, Elm Press, NBC Connecticut HD – Hot Coffee Show, Shipman & Goodwin and Sodexo.
