VNA HealthCare Named as Business Workforce Star
VNA HealthCare was honored by Capital Workforce Partners (CWP) this morning as a “Business Workforce Star” for providing its staff time and encouragement to take a series of educational courses offered through the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC). Nominated by Elizabeth Begley, Allied Health Project Director, CWP, VNA HealthCare home care aides took math, English and college-accredited healthcare courses to assist them in advancing their health care careers or improve their skills for their current position.
Accepting the award was Ellen Rothberg, President and CEO, VNA HealthCare, accompanied by Fred Lauria, Vice-President Human Resources and Aldine Fray, Homecare aide supervisor. Barbara Dean and Barbara Pellett, who have taken almost all of the courses, also attended. They were recognized along with four other aides at the Allied Health Symposium held May 20 at the Mark Twain House.
Capital Workforce Partners is a one-stop career agency which partners with the Connecticut Department of Labor in CTWorks.
